How do we get our teens to take COVID-19 seriously?

We’ve all been there: in our teens, rife with attitude and feelings of immortality.

Nothing’s quite changed in millennia, in that regard.

This reality becomes problematic when things like viruses are added to the mix.

COVID-19 is a serious threat. It causes extreme illness in some and, in others, death.

For those who are lucky enough to come through the coronavirus experience relatively unscathed, the calls to mask up, socially distance and stay safe fall on dead ears. Especially if these ears belong to teenagers.

So how do worried parents get the point across to their stubborn kids that COVID-19 is a threat and can be deadly — if not for them, then for their medically-fragile family members and friends?
